Catchy pop-punk
Junior Battles do bouncy pop-punk really, really well, their take on the genre has a 90s twist bringing to mind all your favourites; Jawbreaker, Bad Religion et al. With fast chunky riffs, this new 7” has four tracks of energetic, danceable highly charged goodness that are really uplifting and begging to be replayed often. Opener, ‘Basements’, chugs in with some solid riffs to start and kicks the single off nicely, this is probably the most poppy accessible track and hooks you right away. Final track ‘Roads: Where We’re Going...’ is possibly the best tune with gang vocals and a really catchy melody. Good stuff here from the Toronto four piece; hopefully we’ll be hearing more from them soon.
