Stoner metal
Nashville four piece Rintrah has a heavy, dark sound bringing to mind Tool and Queens of the Stone Age with hints of Mastodon amongst others. Their beautifully packaged EP is self funded and released, and the band say they haven’t the funds to make the kind of record they’d like, but if that’s the case then judging by how good these tunes are, with some funding they’d be taking over the world.
This is a great EP, nicely heavy and with some really memorable tunes; the closing moments of crashing guitar and vocals on opener ‘The Nameless’ make the hairs stand up on the back of your neck. The more progressive and screamy ‘Siren Song’ is great to rock out to with a fantastic vocal range and melodic guitars. Chunky riffs on ‘Kallisti’ demand head banging; their sound on all five tracks is rich and full with layers of noise to get lost in.
A fantastic intro to this band that are making accessible metal which still has tons of depth, we really hope to be hearing more from them soon.
