Unpredictably Exciting
Liverpool five piece Always The Quiet Ones certainly refuse to stick to any blueprint. With hints of early Biffy Clyro mingling with Deftones understated grandeur, a touch of classic Led Zeppelin full out rock and even a nod to modern metal via Deaf Havana, Always The Quiet Ones have concocted a sound that has both a reassuring familiarity and an exciting sense of the unknown all wrapped up in one.
"Freak Show", the band's latest EP showcases their unpredictability in all its glory. Lead track, 'Sign Of The Times' kicks things off in a mind bending rush of riffs and guitar wizardry that instantly displays the band's Led Zeppelin influences. Blending an array of vocals with like minded riffs, 'Sign Of The Times' is an avalanche of sound that will excite and tease your ears, delving back into the rock annals before the more modern sounding 'Valentina' glides in with an infectious melody and carefree attitude. It is left to 'Freak Show' to end proceedings though. With a menacing bass line thumping throughout reinforced by wave after wave of sinister shouts of "We are the freak show", Always The Quiet Ones simply live up to their names, proving that you can't always tell just what you are going to get. Unpredictable they may be but such a trait makes for an exciting ride.
