John Zealey is not looking for world domination, he just wants to write and record entertaining at functional songs for people to listen too, well, that's until 3pm when his guitar is put down for the evening so he can pick his two kids up from school.
'Dave? Funny Name For A Girl' is a soul driven, post-punk, tongue in cheek song about a man who begins to think that his mates girlfriend isn't all she's cracked up to be. Next up is 'Progress Has Stopped' which has a bit of a Ziggy Stardust feel to it, and is full of amasing guitar riffs. Closing track 'The Moment Is Now' is a ballad and starts off sounding like a charity record, but it really grows and the lyrics really sink in. Melodies really drive these three tracks, and Zealey's voice persistently hangs on in.
'Dave? Funny Name For A Girl' is well worth a listen, and it's clear that John Zealey is a talented musician.
