The Antix - Dare I
Hailing from West Yorkshire, The Antix, burst onto the scene with this great little three track EP. The female fronted five piece show they are playing quality music way above that of what their age suggests and with lead singer, Grace Bickerton’s, impressive vocals sounding like a mix of Gwen Stefani (from No Doubt days) meets Wendy James.
The first song, the title track of the EP 'Dare I', opens with heavy guitar riffs that let you know these guys are here to rock. Grace Bickerton then adds her vocals and this girl can sing too completing this great song pretty much perfectly.
The other two tracks, 'The Cat' and 'Never Know', follow in the same ballsy approach. Matthew Archer on lead guitar and Daniel Daley on drums keep 'The Cat' moving with gusto as Grace continues to show off her talents. 'Never Know' is a slower song to start with but does build up and shows the band can play more than the one style too.
All in all 'Dare I' is a great introduction to The Antix and especially one of the best new singers out there right now, lets hope there is more to follow soon.
