Answers on Postcards
It seems like forever since we last heard from Answers on Postcards so it is a warm welcome as we approach the release of the new double A-single.
The first track ‘Holiday,’ is the perfect tune for the summer, what we have left of it at least. Its bouncy, refreshing atmosphere suits the nature of the song very precisely; it is a little burst of sunshine. The lyrics are even more evident of the summer feel with lines such as “blue skies, sweet times, trip down by the sea”. When listening to this track it generates thoughts of a combination of ‘Happy Days’ and revitalising The Fonz and Cliff Richard in ‘Summer Holiday’, a strange but accurate and defining combination. The second track ‘Do You Miss Me” is similar in its upbeat, bouncy nature but has more defined harmonies.
There are certainly going to be more tracks as delectable as these in the near future from Answers on Postcards.
