The Medullary Paralysis - We don’t drink, we don’t take drugs we don’t have sex, we feel compassion

The only way to describe the music created by The Medullary Paralysis on their debut Ep ‘We don’t drink, we don’t take drugs we don’t have sex, we feel compassion’ (it is a mouthful!) is industrial glamour with a slice of rock. That is a very odd definition, but there is certainly something peculiar about these three musicians.

Firstly there is their fashion sense. Purple latex? What goes on behind closed doors shouldn’t necessarily enter the music industry. Secondly is their blend of music which mixes some old school Marilyn Manson vocals with dance beats and frantic guitars. The Ep opens with ‘Compassion On The Dance Floor’. This is the first demonstration of the techno dance music and pop sentiments that the band creates. ‘Fashion Slave’ follows this and bustles consistently with an otherworldly feel much like its predecessor and the concluding track ‘Heaven Forbid’. Thankfully the lyrics are in English, so that is at least one area you will likely have no problem in understanding.

There is potential in there somewhere, but with only three tracks, it is very difficult to make neither head nor tail of what they are all about.
