This Human Disease is Contagious

Torbay is a quaint little seaside town down in Devon where, as a little nipper, my parents dragged me for a summer holiday at Pontins. Obviously Torbay has its darker parts too as the town I knew then was not the place that produced impressive dark metal like this, but had some very nice ice cream I seem to remember.

This Human Disease have been going for less than a year, so it would seem to be quite early to have an EP released, even one with only 3 tracks. However, they do not seem to be your average band, the bands age ranges from a 21 year old drummer through to a 40 year old bassist.

There are quite a lot of positives to be taken from 'Dead Before Dawn', the music is subtly varied in styles, especially on lead track 'G.T.F.U.' which sees a right mix bag of in your face metal to some industrial tendencies and even sees a little bit of a funked up bass. This is such a brave move from a new band and so refreshing to hear them doing something both different and exciting. Richard Oswin’s vocals work well and you get to hear a good selection of styles and prowess on the 3 tracks. The music is tight and ticks all the right boxes.

So, what about the negatives? Well, the only one is that there are only 3 tracks!
