Dreamy loveliness
A beautiful, haunting melody from the Nottingham alt-folk mob, this release "These Hands" is their second single and it's shot through with hints of brass, dreamy vocals and brings to mind such talented acts as Bon Iver, Will Oldham and Antony and the Johnsons, this stunning tune is gentle and measured, yet the diverse instrumentation hints at a base of raw untapped power ready to soar in an epic way.
This one track is not enough and the yearning, heartbreaking quality of the open production and the slight warble on the vocals leaves you gasping for more. A gorgeous, memorable record and one which you'll want to revisit over and over again; be sure to check out their debut full-length being released early in 2011 for more aural loveliness.
