Agent Cooper - From The Ashes
Agent Cooper return from a seven year hiatus with their new EP From The Ashes.
Opening track Power instantly grabs your attention due to its Queen-like edge. It's a modern prog-rock track with a retro edge; a great opening number that really sets the vibe for the rest of this release.
Front man Doug Busbee has a great tone to his voice, yet at times you can't help but think he overdoes things slightly, which makes it appear as though he is trying too hard. That said, I cannot fault his vocal work on Power and I Can.
Agent Cooper have mastered the art of writing radio-friendly songs that have plenty of twists and turns in terms of tempo and key changes, which keeps things interesting.
Every song on From The Ashes is well performed and well produced, it's a great effort from a band that have been on a break for so long. I'm looking forward to hearing more from these five talented men in the not so distant future.
