McAlister

Breaking out of the West Midlands come a band that seem more in tune with the USA, and indeed initially do sound American. A mixture of Matchbox Twenty and The Goo Goo Dolls, McAlister manage to carry off a blaring sound with distinctive, crisp vocals that dominate throughout.

Danny McAlister is undeniably the heart and soul of the group. As the main song writer, the music revolves around his vocals creating an instantly recognisable sound. With the ability to vocally command a song, Danny McAlister proceeds to drive it at break neck speed, bellowing out each line whilst simultaneously incorporating every level of the vocal scale. This is demonstrated to perfection on 'Here, Now and Everything' in which the track is belted out, accompanied by instruments which are equally as powerful and played with the same raw, roughness complementing the vocals expertly.

McAlister prove that they know how to rock; that they too can recreate the thunderous noise of seventies rock and above all they reveal that they can shake you to the inner core. Nevertheless there is more to the group then simply this, they are capable of even more. 'Shine', although still retaining these same anthem/stadium shaking qualities, also opens up the gentler side of the band, allowing us to enjoy the lyrical flair of a group who appear to have all bases covered.
