A Perfect Partnership
McAlmont and Butler were saved from the scrap heap of has-beens by Rough Trade who were so impressed by this single that they decided to release it as a one off to impress in its own right.
'Speed' is a filmic number with sweeping guitars and synths and echoing drums that shudder through the light, twinkling vocals, which dance on the edge of falsetto. A breezy mid-tempo number with an inspiring chorus of "Keep moving", this is a bright, grandiose pop song that shimmers from the euphoric production and those soaring vocals.
McAlmont and Butler's partnership is certainly a fruitful one and although this track is all they currently have to offer, they don't sound like they're hanging up the headphones yet!
