Naturally Thoughtful and Charming
As the composer of the soundtrack for Donnie Darko, one would expect strange and unexpected things from Michael Andrews. 'Just A Thought' is a pretty stark contrast to the bleak gloom of Donnie Darko however, it's a bright little number filled with electro quirks that rides along on mellow acoustic guitar accompaniment. The introspective stream of consciousness vocals reveal a tender charm, "Hello, just a thought, you're just a thought, are you here to confuse me or amuse me?". A pleasant little guitar solo settles in towards the end, buzzing away happily rather like this intangible little thought that flies around Andrews' head.
'Orange Meet Lemon' is a chilled, psychedelic number with a frisson of bluesy jazz floating through the listener's brain like a melodic cocktail that perfectly soothes on a summer's afternoon. Both these tunes are understated little numbers that meander along like the soundtrack to a cheerful day, breezy and delightful, there's nothing here for anyone not to like.
