We Don't Need No Education

Who said education was a waste of time? Having met whilst waiting to be interviewed for a job as a music teacher, Londoners Butch La Rea and Robbie Pina decided that they had enough in common to form a band and promptly headed to the pub to discuss their next move. The education system loss is our gain as Milk Plus explodes with an energetic brashness to obliterate all.

Nailing your ears to the floor with a sneer across their faces, Milk Plus’ debut EP ‘Little Victories’ charges out of the blocks with the infectiously riotous ‘Monsters In Your Sleeves’ as a anger ravaged guitar riff chugs and wails with spite and fury before an avalanche of high pitched vocals jump in to kick everyone to the floor. Balls to the wall rock, Monsters In Your Sleeves’ is out to demolish all with glee. Likewise ‘Fear Of Numbers’ wails and struts with a confidence bolstered by a catchy hook and chant inducing lyrics as the track stomps and slams with foot tapping ferocity before ‘I Don’t Know What I’m Doing’ gently makes its entrance, beckoning all in tenderly before unleashing an eerily mesmerising wail of ska tinged punk that even vents a shout out long break to sink your teeth into.

As parents breathe a sigh of relief that there kids were never subjected to such a pair, the rest of us can smile smugly over the music world’s gain. Brash and fierce with hooks a plenty, Milk Plus prove that education isn’t always the best policy.
