Revert, Restart, Reset...from the beginning
Formed early last year by five lads each having the same goal of making music that is epic, Cut The Blue Wire was born out of a passion to offer music lovers a new brand of music. There are elements of every kind in the material than this band unfolds; from infectious Indie, to sidelines of Electro with a focus on power punk.
With five lads all having conceptions and ideas about what they want from a band, and from their music, the band has been going from strength to strength to this point where they are releasing their debut record ‘Revert, Restart, Reset’. What can be determined through the six tracks on this record is that Cut The Blue Wire area band focused on a heavier taste of punk, with segments of electro rumbling like a hungry stomach and being fed the occasional indie riff. Each of the songs thunders with guitar riffs, most dominant being centre on ‘Rockets Ready To Fire’. The indie side that the band explores doesn’t seem to have much of a presence until ‘Race To The King’ where the riffs fail to maintain an indie hold and burst into a heavier sound. The electro kicks out in the same track and continues over to ‘No Song Of Mine’ in a backing ambiance.
DD Ball supplies vocals for this band and shouts each word in a way that doesn’t do much for the release. However, when it comes to powerful harmonies, the aggression and dominance that the lads have combined creates quite an impact.
The combination of power punk melodies, indie segments, underpinning electro waves and harmonies that explode, make this quite a release from Cut The Blue Wire.
