Catchy Angry Electro Pop
Scandinavian band Veto’s debut UK single has some great vibes that could certainly cause a stir in the UK pop charts. A mixture of 80’s falsetto vocals; crunchy, industrial electronica and heavy beats, it’s a curious one that falls somewhere between pop, dance and ark electronica. The synths snarl and the rhythm is relentless, making it a very catchy morsel of Danish drama. The vocals ache with electro-anguish and are distinctive enough to make an impression, so the tune has plenty of promise.
Veto are likely to appeal to the same crowd as Pendulum or MGMT, but their music has a little more edge and less melodic froth. They’re definitely worth checking out if this sounds like your thing. The band’s album, ‘Crushing Digits’ is out on 20th April and will hopefully sport more of the same.
