So then we continue on to look across the Saturday and Sunday of this year's Desertfest with the latter of the days in particular being special as The Roundhouse opens its doors for the first time in the event's history. As with Part Two (http://roomthirteen.com/features/1196/Desertfest_2017_Preview_Part_Two.html) we'll be taking a look at the headliners across all the stages as well as giving our top picks to check out! Without any further ado then...

Saturday

Headliners

Turbonegro - The Electric Ballroom - 20:30-21:45

 height=

Saturday night at Desertfest brings some brand new headliners in to the fray with the the legendary Turbonegro. Combining everything from Punk to Glam to Rock N' Roll, this is not a band afraid of bringing huge swathes of chaos in to their live shows. This will be an energetic and fun as fuck close to the Saturday night!

Bongzilla - The Underworld - 21:00-22:15

 height=

After returning from a ten year hiatus in 2015, US Stoner beasts Bongzilla are set to play their first of two shows across the weekend as they headline The Underworld on Saturday night (they'll also be opening proceedings at The Roundhouse the next day). Whilst they haven't released any new material since 2005's Amerijuanican the band do have a strong arsenal of tunes to choose from, and we might even be treated to one or two new cuts.

Earth Ship - The Black Heart - 22:00-23:00
 height=

German Doom/Sludge Metal crew Earth Ship released the absolutely crushing Hollowed in the summer of last year and have a following that continues to grow with every thunderous live set they perform. Yes, they're heavy, but their ability to switch things up a gear in to these nineties grunge influenced groove and melodies makes them a very exciting prospect indeed. This one will be packed.

Chron Goblin - The Devonshire Arms - 22:00-23:00

 height=

Looking to inject a bit of punk edged fury, Chron Goblin are all set to headline the second of two nights as The Devonshire Arms opens it's doors to Desertfest this year. Their sound is rooted in Stoner/Heavy Rock but they've got this all round approach to everything which reminds us of Red Fang. They'll serve as a perfect continuation of the chaos Turbonegro will be delivering over at The Electric Ballroom that's for sure.

Best Of The Rest!

John Garcia Band - The Electric Ballroom - 19:00-20:00

 height=

There is absolutely no doubting that when you're in the presence of John Garcia you're in the presence of one of the true godfathers in this scene. Friday night sees him bring back Slo Burn and Saturday will have the man delivering a set based not only around his recent solo material but tracks from across his entire career. There will no doubt be a huge reaction when he belts out some of those Kyuss classics.

Black Spiders - The Electric Ballroom - 17:30-18:30

 height=

Amidst what is sadly their farewell tour, UK Heavy Rock unit Black Spiders will be gracing the Desertfest stage for their final London show in what we're sure is set to be a flurry of madness amongst a real party atmosphere. They'll be determined to bow out with a bang so you better be ready to rock and you damn sure better be ready to roll as well.

Mammoth Weed Wizard Bastard - The Black Heart - 19:00-19:45

 height=

As far as band names go, they've worked hard on covering almost all of the Doom and Stoner stereotypes but once you get past that, musically they really are an excellent unit. This is a band who are continually getting more popular so expect The Black Heart to be absolutely crammed.

Sunday

Headliners

Sleep - The Roundhouse - 21:15-22:45

 height=

In an exciting new move for Desertfest this year, Sunday's Main Stage will be hosted by the legendary Roundhouse and who better to headline this kind of occasion than the mighty Sleep? Without a doubt one of the most influential and important bands for Doom, this one is going to be HEAVY.

Samsara Blues Experiment - The Underworld - 22:30-23:30

 height=

Another popular band hailing from Germany on this year's Desertfest line-up, Samsara Blues Experiment are old favourites in Camden. Probably safe to expect that a lot of the set-list will include cuts from their brand new album One With The Universe.

Dead Lord - The Black Heart - 22:30-23:30

 height=

Taking their cues from a more classic side of Heavy Metal, the Swedish Dead Lord will be doing their all to bring an energetic and chaotic end the 2017 edition of Desertfest.

Best Of The Rest!

Boss Keloid - The Black Heart - 16:15-17:00

 height=

Favourites of ours at Room Thirteen, their latest record Herb Your Enthusiasm got a 12/13 last year and genuinely was one of the better releases of 2016. We cannot wait to see them crush through those tracks live.

Wolves In The Throne Room - The Roundhouse - 18:15:19:15

 height=

If you fancy a seriously intense flurry of atmospheric Black Metal madness on the Sunday then make sure you're at The Roundhouse for Wolves In The Throne Room. On record they're great, live they're frankly astonishing. Another clear candidate for potential band of the weekend.
