Roadrunner Records has announced the signing of the band described as "extreme power metal icons" Dragonforce, for the U.K., France, Australia and New Zealand.

Although London-based, there is something of a multi national thing going on with this lot. Fronted by South African-born ZP Theart and completed by drummer David Mackintosh, Ukrainian keyboardsman Vadim Pruzhanov and the guitarists Herman Li and New Zealander Sam Totman.

Hong Kong-born Li was the recent winner of 2005's Metal Hammer Awards' Dimebag Darrell Award for Best Guitarist.

Aside from a headlining tour of the UK in 2005, they shared a festival stage with Iron Maiden. They have two albums already to their name, 'Valley of the Damned' and 'Sonic Firestorm'. Their third 'Inhuman Rampage' is out on January 9th. The support of Roadrunner should surely see them move forward and be a name to watch over the next twelve months.
