The mighty Pendulum release their eagerly awaited new album this week.

Currently on a UK tour and with stacks of festival dates lined up including Download and Reading/Leeds, expect them to be one of the major bands of the summer.

One of the gigs of the summer is Iron Maiden at Twickenham, and with their 2008 world tour focusing on the eighties part of their career, a best of from that era is being released. If you’ve never owned any Maiden material, this will be a good way to introduce yourself to the metal legends and one of the biggest bands on the planet.

Talking of huge UK acts, The Cure are back with a new single this week, with another heavyweight returning, all be it under another name, with the Green Day side project Foxboro Hot Tubs releasing material this week.

Other singles of note include Pigeon Detectives, Raconteurs, Hot Chip and the Ting Tings.
