Sony Records will be releasing a two-disc soundtrack album to coincide with the release of Lennon biopic, ‘Nowhere Boy’ on December 14.
The album will be released on CD and in digital format and will feature music from Elvis Presley, Gene Vincent, Jerry Lee Lewis, Screamin’ Jay Hawkins and The Isley Brothers, as well as many other popular 1960’s acts.
Sam Taylor-Wood’s directorial debut details John Lennon’s early years and features his time in The Quarrymen, his relationship with Paul McCartney and The Beatles first visit to Hamburg. After already wowing crowds at this year’s London Film Festival, it looks set to follow in the footsteps of Anton Corbjn’s Ian Curtis biopic ‘Control’ in terms of its commercial success.
Starring Kristen Scott-Thomas as Aunt Mimi, Anne-Marie Duff as Lennon’s mother and Aaron Johnson as the young John Lennon, ‘Nowhere Boy’ is set for general release from December 26.
