Welcome to the first in a series of Download Festival 2018 Preview features! As we build towards the main event on the hallowed turf of Donington Park we'll be giving you Q&A's with punters of Download Festival's gone by, full breakdowns of the main highlights across all the stages as well as snippets taking us all down memory lane as the festival celebrates 15 full years since it's inception in 2003. To kick things off we've built the ultimate playlist for Download Festival 2018 - so whether you're looking for some road tunes on your route down, need that last little push to buy that ticket or are looking to discover bands you may not have necessarily checked out initially then this is exactly what you need.

First off, let's hear again from the man himself Andy Copping commenting on this year's three gargantuan headliners:

"It's great to have this iconic line up of Guns N' Roses headlining at Download. I am sure I am not alone when I say I have been wanting this to happen for years. It will be an incredible show and will be one of the highlights of the Download weekend!

A real career highlight of mine was giving Avenged Sevenfold their first ever UK festival headline slot, and I'm thrilled to welcome them back. You don't often see bands like Avenged Sevenfold top the charts, but much like seeing them live, they're not to be underestimated.

We're unbelievably excited to have Ozzy as one of the headliners next year. Already hailing from the midlands, Ozzy Osbourne is no stranger to Download, and after Black Sabbath closed the festival in 2016, how could I not ask The Prince of Darkness to come back all on his own? The Download family are without a shadow of a doubt, in for a treat."
