Suburban Legends - Friend Zone Tour

Ska superstars Suburban Legends have returned to the UK; this time they’re on a headlining tour known as the Friend Zone Tour. As soon as Suburban Legends appeared on the stage, the audience was hit with a wave of boundless energy, which would make the most active gym-bunny feel like a lazy slob.

Their set contained a variety of original songs and cover versions, which as always contained a handful of Disney classics and choreographed routines with plenty of crowd participation thrown into the mix.

Towards the end of the band’s set, things took an interesting turn as a fan named Adam was invited to the stage along with the cast of the musical Adam had written based on Suburban Legends songs; at this point, the Friend Zone felt more like the Twilight Zone. Adam and his cast sung an original track, before the band joined in to really amp it up making the whole situation slightly less uncomfortable.

Whilst this was a very sweet touch by Suburban Legends, it was an extended awkward moment for everyone else in attendance, even guitarist Brian looked on edge during the performance. Adam was then encouraged to stage dive by the band, which he did, thankfully the crowd caught him but it is fair to say there was a sigh of relief across the venue as the uber fans left the stage.

Suburban Legends arrival in the UK seemed to coincide with the change of weather, almost as if they’d brought the Californian sun over with them, of course, this made for a very hot and stick Islington Academy as there wasn't a still body in the house during their set (apart from the moment mentioned above) but we all know a sweaty show is the best kind of show.

Suburban Legends never fail to disappoint; their headlining London show once again proved that it is impossible to watch this guys without a massive smile on your face.
