As collaborations go, this sounds like it's going to be an absolute winner. Josh Homme and Iggy Pop have joined forces, 'secretly' recording an album together which they're now ready to unleash on the world. Post Pop Depression will be released this March via Loma Vista with the duo debuting new music on The Late Show With Stephen Colbert in the US tonight (21/01).

Commenting on the upcoming release, Iggy Pop explains, "Homme took me to a place I'd never been... This was to go where neither of us had gone before. That was the agreement. And to go all the way." Homme responded by stating that Iggy Pop "...is the last one of the one-of-a-kinds... This is a much deserved victory lap for a man who's not sure if he won. But he did. He may have tunneled underground for lots of that, but he still got to the destination."

The respect for each other is clearly huge, a factor which sounds like it has filtered in to an album we're very much looking forward to hearing.

EDIT (22/01): The full line up of the band has been revealed with Dean Fertita (Queens Of The Stone Age and The Dead Weather) and Matt Helders (Arctic Monkeys) joining Homme and Iggy. The band have also released their first track from the album, entitled Gardenia.
