20,000 people braved the bad weather in Brighton yesterday (Jan 1) for the Fatboy Slim New Year's Day Beach Party.
Later the DJ commented to the BBC: "I love the people of Brighton, they stood there and took everything the elements could chuck at them and still partied on."
Tickets for the event were sold only to those with a Brighton post code. A similar event put on by Fatboy Slim in 2002 ended in chaos as 250,000 people descended on Brighton.
Sussex police say that only 5 arrests were made. The costs for the 130 officers were met by the event organisers.
