Needs A Little More Dog/Excitement

Feeder have always had a reputation for producing a nice, layered sound in their songs. Ever since their first full album, Polythene, Feeder have been multi-tracking all kinds of noises into their music. Even now, many years and albums later, Feeder are still hard at work in the layering game.

Said layering is plentiful in Feeder's latest single, the title track from Comfort in Sound. The guitar, bass and drums steadily march right in at the beginning of the song, with a strange inverted pedal (read: weird high noise) constantly playing. Once the vocals start, the general formula of the song is visible, and is pretty much how the song sounds all the way through.

The song, therefore, is nice, but lacks the variety a good song really needs these days to push its way above the competitors.
