Haunting Post-Rock

Female rock trio The Rayographs cast gender stereotypes aside with their grimy, brash and colourful creations that rewrite the rock rulebook. ‘Francis’ grips from start to finish with a slow building introduction featuring gentle snatches warm and fuzzy guitar soon peaking into a vibrant cascade of raw, thrashing percussion, echoing vocal harmonies that lap over each other like the waves in a discordant sea and insouciant, snarling guitars. Think of The Breeders and Vivian Girls crossed with experimental urges as you’ll see no traditional verse-chorus format here, ‘Francis’ is more of a prolonged burst of giddy post-rock cool.

The band are currently working on their new album, which will be highly anticipated if they continue to create such chilled and engaging rock tunes. In the meantime you can catch them playing several London shows this summer.
