Pleasantly floaty.

‘Talking Dead’ is a sweet single, a floating melody sweeps you effortlessly away; however, surprisingly for singer songwriter fare, it’s not the lyrics that you focus on but the melody and the backing sounds. The tune is great and the string sound blends well with the acoustic guitar to create a song that has you humming along on the second listen.

Track two is slower and more melancholy in tone and the vocals are spot on, this tune brings a more down to earth, minimal approach that is effective because you can focus on the lyrics, which actually aren’t bad and give it more of an emotional impact. Two gentle acoustic pop songs with an emotive edge, not unusual or groundbreaking but pleasant, quite effective and a little like Jack Penate meets Frank Turner (but without the politics).
