Belgium Rock
This could quite possibly the first band I have come across from Belgium, having reviewed some good bands from several European countries, including France, it was with some interest to see what the country that gave us Tin Tin, Eddie Merckx and Hercule Poirot could offer.
Well the answer is that this is quite impressive, The Black Box Revelation only being a two piece makes it hard to be original but on this evidence the restrictions of lack of instruments is hardly noticeable with some non standard vocals and the instrumental mid song is a nice little touch, bit like having sprinkles on a cup cake.
There is a hint of a cheat here though, this song was first released in 2007 and although may be new to us here on these shores, it certainly is not the case over in America where Major League Baseball team Pittsburgh Pirates being so impressed with ‘I Think I Like You’ they brought the rights to the song. The Black Box Revelation hit the UK in October for a brief tour.
