Assault & Battery!

I don't think there's any dispute over Defleshed's claim that this is an 'audial assault in twelve rounds' (except that there are 13 tracks?!). Do a quick search on Google & you'll find their homepage complete with the introduction that 'If you like awesome brutal high speed metal you will
probably love this band!' & that sums things up nicely.

There really is no let up on this (their 6th or 7th album depending on which part of the press release you believe!), it's relentless, brain crushing speed metal from start to finish. The drummer has bionic legs, the guitarist has wired his fingers up to the national grid & the vocalist has tipped the contents of a few ashtrays down his neck!

To analyse every track on Reclaim the Beat is a difficult task as every song sounds pretty much like the one before. It's a good example of the genre & if you like full on speed metal it does the job well, but there are no tunes to speak of & no extras to set it apart from any other band in the field. Track eight ' Bulldozed (Back to Basics)' does have about 5 seconds of melody in the middle though if you manage to get that far before your head explodes!
