'Featherhead' is an album designed to show off the diverse talent of the four Brits that make up Motion Theory. Each track showcasing a different side of their music while, as a whole, giving you a damn good idea of what they are about. Influences from their backgrounds in punk, funk, rock and classical blend together into a smooth, sensual set of songs. Singer Dom's voice leads the sound and is full and deep conveying each song through melodic twists and turns that makes your senses come alive.

'I Love the Smell of the Universe in the Morning' starts out with some time changing, jarring breaks that initially seem odd, but as the vocals come in and the song develops it becomes a ingenious counterpoint highlighting the winding melodies. The track is packed with keyboards which keep the subtle undertones flowing building a strong support for the guitar highlights.

'Until You Leave' brings out a different side to the band with bouncy beats while 'Lucidity' is a song for chilling out to, making you want to just close your eyes and get lost in the drifting sound. Drummer, Will, comes to the fore in 'Big Boys', his beats catching your attention and keeping the song a controlled, constrained, soft piece. 'Make Some Noise' is exactly what it says on the tin - a song to get involved with and sing along to. Rounding things off with some funky bass beats courtesy of James and Jamie's chunky guitars with the title track 'Featherhead', this album leaves you feeling completely satisfied.

Motion Theory have created a set of songs that work well in all sorts of situations, from a background to a summer BBQ, to a drive through the country, to a night alone with candles and wine. Filled with firing guitar solos, winding melodies and topped off by Dom's knee melting voice. Motion Theory brings you alternative progressive rock at its best.
