Sgt Wolfbanger - Think Inside The Box

The lads of Sgt. Wolfbanger have been working on gaining the attention of the music lovers of the North West as well as the rest of the UK over the last few years and have gradually gained enough attention for them to release their debut album ‘Think Inside the Box’.

The release instantly opens on a high note with ‘When I Break a Promise It Shatters’. This is the first taste of what the band are able to accomplish. You will instantaneously get engaged with this track and ‘Night Light’. You are in for a real treat with some melodic rock melodies and the occasional pop-punk sidelines; there are some powerful sounds created by these five musical ingenious minds. However, some of the remaining tracks are slower and although just as interesting to listen to, tend to make much less of an impact. ‘Smile Lines’ is probably the most astounding for its ambition and strong piano keys. It seems just as the album opens with two tracks that demanded your attention it closes in the same method; ‘Take Me Away’ is strong and very authoritative in its use of guitar riffs and vocals while ‘Careless Caress’ has a bouncier standpoint.

When it comes to writing the lyrics to support these outstanding songs, the choruses are especially epic. They are simple yet charming to listen to as well as edge you to sing along and adore. With ‘Lonely Knight’, the lyrics of the verses are quickly spoken while the musical atmosphere is darkened and slower performed to give an atmosphere to accompany the meaning and emotions behind the lyrics. There are other tracks to take on a similar slower style, such as ‘The Girl Who Wouldn’t Sing’ but with a lesser impact. Harmonies are another factor that make the debut from Sgt Wolfbanger shine so brightly; these are especially notable on ‘Oh Look, You’re Surrounded!’ and ‘Smile Lines’.

As far as debuts are concerned, ‘Think Inside the Box’ is one to start your New Year off on a high note.
