Last Letter Read - These Stories Roll EP
Last Letter Read may have already caught the attention of many of you in their five years as a band. However it is likely ‘These Stories Roll’ is going to be catching the ears of the industry and many more music lovers in the UK.
There are only four tracks present here, which is certainly not enough to satisfy our appetites. Each of the songs has a fundamental power pop atmosphere with an added punk approach. Adrenalin kicks in at the start of ‘Penniless but Grand’ and powers though at every minute surrounding you with vibrant atmospheres, sharp guitar solos (‘Your Year’) and explosive rhythms (‘Escape’). After three vibrant tracks the concluding number ‘Miles Away’ has emotive lyrics that you can tell has so many feelings put into singing them and personal experiences drawn upon when writing.
For these five fellas from West Sussex, ‘These Stories Roll’ is a positive development from their earlier poppier material, which can be found on their Myspace. There is so much emotion, enthusiasm and energy gone into creating something the UK has only seen the start of. Watch out in 2010 as this is the beginning of big things for Last Letter Read.
