ICTUS - Handmade and Homegrown

The new mini album from Leicester punk pop quartet ICTUS, is an infectious blend of melodies and choruses.

With influences ranging from The Offspring, Fall Out Boy and Green Day notable, the band takes these musical masters on board then twists in their own sounds and style to make something inimitable for the band. Beginning with ‘Run’ the gripping music instantly gets you by the ear and projects strength, fun and ambition. ‘Car Crash’ develops on this love of what they are doing with catchy guitar hooks that grasp your attention, lyrics you could sing all day, vocals to listen to on repeat and a summer breeze that warms your insides. Likewise, ‘Call Me On’ makes you pray for the day you can catch this lively band on stage in their true form.

Even when ‘Papers & Pens’ takes a softer tone, things remain strong, commanding and possibly even more overwhelming than they previously were with the upbeat tunes. ‘Whilst The World Burns’ is the song that makes the vocals, more specifically the harmonies, glimmer. They are slightly out of balance but since they are extremely united and suit the music perfectly, this works incredibly well.

Creating highly paced music with a bounce, it can be imagined that when these guys take to the stage, magic will happen.
