End It Tonight Single

Band names are often misleading and Teenagersintokyo are no exception. Firstly, they aint teenagers anymore, they’re now twenty-somethings. Secondly, the band are currently based in London having relocated from their native Sydney, which is relatively close to Japan at least. Pleasantries aside their latest single ‘End It Tonight’ isn’t half as confusing as their origins with an infectious outtake of female-fronted electro-pop that has merited support slots with the likes of CSS and The Gossip.

Not only does End It Tonight sound vital but harbours a veteran confidence by splicing together the disturbing side of 80’s synth with a spunky relentlessness. Energetic basslines drive the track on while synthesizers do their best to drag rhythms towards disco. Holding the whole shebang together is frontgirl Samantha Lim whose forceful yelps echo Shirley Manson at her dominant, formidable best.

Teenagersintokyo may not do what it says on the tin but when a single is this invigorating, who cares?
