revellions review

When you think of Irish acts you'll possibly think of the likes of U2 and Van Morrison.
But now there is a new band from the Emerald Isle coming out of the starting blocks in the form of The Revellions. "Sigh's" is a download single from their second album which will be released in late 2010.

The song displays a variety of influences that the band take inspiration from such as 60s pop right through to the Latin flavoured trumpet solo.

A fairly decent song but if they're to make more inroads in the UK the rest of the new album will have to stick in the mind a bit better than "Sigh's". Musicianship is very strong. The singing from Ali Moore is not quite coherent enough to understand the lyrics. Its not particularly offensive and is a pleasant listen. It just lacks the oomph that a song should have when its giving a hint to what the new album will sound like.

But hey, it would be better to see how "Sigh's" sits beside the rest of the band's second album when it is released.
