Anthemic, melodic rock
Super catchy tunes on this debut 7" from American four piece Banquets; their sound is melodic and anthemic rock, think The Gaslight Anthem with less of a Springsteen edge and more pop-punk. "This Is Our Concern, Dude" is a great release, big, anthemic tunes you can bounce around to, technically solid on all counts and full of cracking vocals to sing along with, it impresses straight away and they sound more like a band way into their career than one just releasing their debut 7". The four tracks here are all more than worthy of a place in your record collection, 'Eleanor, I Need a Garden' was the one that really got us going though, perhaps it's those snatches of gang vocals or the fantastic melody, either way it's bound to get you dancing.
