Addictive
A warm retro feel pervades the title song on this excellent three track single from Mr Fender; 'The Cloud' is a super-catchy melodic tune laid over with a strong Leeds accent on the vocals, it's slightly reminiscent of The Police at times but with an early 90s indie feel from the guitar. 'Everyday' is slightly more caustic with a punk edge, great riffs and yet another solid melody and '5108' is soft and gentle. Three memorable tracks from a genuine talent; the lo-fi, minimal production makes these tunes shine, as all well written songs do when they aren't fussed over too much. The open tone gives this single a raw, edgy feel that is emotionally quite powerful. It's hard to believe this is his debut single as his sound is so distinctive and focussed already.
