Sweet post-rock

Once you get used to Ben Proudlock's odd vocal style and decipher his very strong Scottish accent the charms of Penguins Kill Polar Bears follow closely behind. This is their second EP since their formation in 2008 and it shows real promise. The EP is all about sweeping epics full of layers of distorted feedback-laden guitar, this is all underpinned by sweetly moving melodies and an open, live sound marking out the atmospheric feel for the whole EP.

Comparisons to Biffy Clyro have already been made, but they have more of a post-rock edge than Biffy's guitar heavy pop-rock has ever had. P.K.P.B. have a distinctive sound all their own, expansive, full of echoes and pouring on the waves of dense noise to great effect.
