Astrovan love to rock. Who doesn't!?

Running in parallel to British classic rock outfits such as Voodoo Johnson, Seattle-based quintet Astrovan continue to keep neo-classic rock alive with their riff-dominant tunes. Having opened up for the likes of Nickelback and Papa Roach, it seems Astrovan are on the road to success with the vehicle's engine roaring with colossal riffs.

Singer Deezer contributes a superb vocal performance throughout the EP, rising to the escalating standard being set by nimble-fingered (but cliché -named) lead guitarist Sam Damage. The duo shine in songs such as rousing opener 'Too Proud,' with more restrained tracks such as 'Every Change' allowing the musicians to showcase their ability to excel in contrastingly contemplative styles. 'Get Down' reverts back to the vibe established at the beginning of this impressive EP, incorporating a slightly heavier blues-feel and perfecting an enticingly magnetic chorus.

Astrovan's debut is a rifftastic success. The metal and blues traits perfectly complement the unadulterated classic rock feel, combining to generate a powerful persona. They may well bear an uncanny aural resemblance to a number of contemporary artists, but they nevertheless deliver their music with unwavering conviction. At the very least, 'You Said It Man' will help the band to pencil themselves on to the classic rock map, buying them time until they can hopefully follow up this promising EP with a full length record that will allow them to permanently tattoo their name in the history books and introduce themselves to the world.
