Reminiscing about the nineties

Following on from their double A-Side single 'Attention All Departments/They Launched A Probe', London based band The Winter Olympics return with their new single 'I Miss The Nineties'.

This song plunges a listener back over a decade to an era of Terminator 2, Eric Cantona, The X-Files, Bill and Ted and the Tamagotchi - all of which are mentioned within this track. It is a song infused with pop sensibilities destined to get you yelling and reminiscing with cleverly written lyrics taking a listener back to years gone by. The second track 'This is the Fourth Time (I Have Been In Your House)' is very different from the first. It is bursting with heavy guitars and bass lines, crashing alive with a static energy. It has an alternative rock heart with a dynamic atmosphere and grunge guitars becoming very fierce.

These two songs show a listener two very different sides to The Winter Olympics. While the first shows a lighter, dance/pop/electro atmosphere to the band, the second is much tougher with an emphasis on the heavier side of rock music. Both tracks are brilliant in their own individual way and a listener is left wanting more.
