Rousing Hardcore Punk

New Jersey mob One Win Choice's punk edged hardcore is not new or genre breaking but it is passionate, heady and addictive and that's by far enough to excite the senses. 'Movements' opens the album with the lyrics "A call to restore the bonds we've stripped and torn away. Consider someone else, something else" shouted over a hooky riff and melodic tune and this sums up the energy of the album straight away, it's about the little people, the little things, it's a real call to arms both lyrically and musically and really gets you emotionally pumped to try and save the world any way you can.

It's not just the lyrics that get you focussed but the easy on the ear melodies and heady waves of crushing noise they create too, emotionally stirring and with some great shout along moments on tracks like 'Who Threw Out The Itinerary?' which is a real anthemic winner; the foot stomping rhythms of 'Paint Me A Better World' and the fast paced 'Frame Your Favourite Pictures' which has an almost pop core the melodic chorus is so catchy. 'A Convincing Argument Against' and 'Hands Over Hearts' push the harder side of the band with the former's sonic washes creating goose bumps and the latter's forceful and insistent beats and strong gang vocals really making an impact.

Bringing to mind bands like Comeback Kid, Rise Against and Million Dead (a little)but only because OWC mix the best elements of the genre and produce some great melodic hardcore songs with heart. This is such an addictive album, the more you hear it the more you want to hear it, don't miss out on your dose.
