More funky Indie-Rock for fans of The Killers and Razorlight...

Returning with their second single, The Morenas offer more of the infectious Indie-Rock that is still dominating the air waves, but inspired by the story of Mata Hari (hence the rather strange spelling), 'It Shouldn't Mata' lurches more towards the quirky gusto of bands like The Killers and Franz Ferdinand than the more fragile stylings of Athlete and Snow Patrol.

Paolo's vocals range from a powerful whine that would match those of Muse's Matt Bellamy, to a tortured wail that would make Jeff Buckley proud, while the song's up tempo beat, driving bass line, strings, and trumpet from UB40's Laurence Parry, make this a quirky, funky piece of summer Indie.

The second track on the single, 'Say Something Else', with its powerful, catchy chorus is once again reminiscent of The Killers sound, while the song's simplicity and edgy vocals with keep fans of Razorlight happy.

Overall, an enjoyable single that fits perfectly with current trends whilst The Morenas give the genre their own funky twist. No doubt this will be essential summer listening, but the real test will come with their album, 'Dance for Your Dictator', due for release in the summer.
