'Look a Little Closer' at this amazing EP!

Attention Thieves have that bright spark that every young band needs to succeed these days. Catchy tunes together with catchier lyrics that could get stuck in your head for days on end. Their EP Look A Little Closer may only have four songs on but they're incredible tracks that you'll learn to love after only a few plays.

With very Funeral for a Friend vocals they kick off with You'll Be The First One . A great song with a chorus that really sticks in your head, along with a good scream near the end, this song is a recipe for success. With such a great opener it's hard to imagine that the rest of the songs can be done justice. Oh they can.

Bring Yourself To Justice is a song with a slow introduction with the hint that it's going to completely explode, which it doesn't, it has the drop but not the one you'd expect. That doesn't mean the song is a disappointment, far from it, more than anything it shows the true talent this band has. The vocals are extremely varied and it's also one of those songs that you think has ended but then it comes back for one more rapid punch!

Moving on as fast as possible is clearly what these guys love to do. Can't Stay begins with a fast paced guitar and slips into the chorus of "You can't stay, you can't stay" which you just can't help but sing along involuntarily to, almost like you've been brainwashed, still it's not a bad thing to sing along to a good song. Slowing down for a moment in the middle and displaying some beautiful guitar techniques the screaming kicks in and the rock continues. Another amazing song by this talented bunch.

A moment of almost sadness dawns on me as I realise that I've come to the end of this EP. Rarely do I find a record where I like all of the songs and this is one of those CDs. The last song We Won't Live Forever camouflages itself as a sweet slow song well in the beginning until the screaming kicks in and pushes the song into over drive.

Look A Little Closer EP is an incredible listen for any fan of rock. Attention Thieves really do have a recipe for great songs with what they produce. The music flows fantastically with the screaming and singing and makes this a truly spectacular CD. Shame it's only got four songs, but there's always hope for an album.
