Reworked acoustics

The New Light EP features four very sweet acoustic and reworked versions of tracks taken from Moving Mountains album Waves released last year and their debut record Pneuma from 2007. The New York trio's sound is usually far louder and more epic than the tunes featured here but they have done the melodies justice releasing them in this gentle format; vocally the tunes are honeyed and dreamy but not sickly, and the addition of cello with acoustic guitar on the tracks especially Where Two Bodies Lie for example really warms up the tone and helps you sink in. The final track 8105 is a real winner, the extended intro of more complex acoustic guitar plucking and cello really sets off the great melodic, poppy vocal line when it breaks through.

A lovely EP of sweetly melodic versions of some of Moving Mountains tracks, fans will no doubt be interested in hearing these versions but newcomers may find they appreciate them more by starting with the 2011 album first.
