Bubonic Tronic will take you on a journey that you don't want to end!

One thing I really love about music is the range of names that can come out of it, a few of my favourites would be Enter Shikari, Deaf Havana, Biffy Clyro, just weird names that make you think, still it's a pleasure I suppose. So I was really intrigued to know what The Spindlesect sounded like with their album Bubonic Tronic which sounds like a cross between the plague and a Dr Dre album.

I don't even know what to make of the opening song intro . A simple drum beat gets some keyboards on it and then it just freaks out and cuts. There's nothing else I can say about it but I like it, it's a unique way to open an album up.

I've spent a lot of my life on video games, name a console I've probably owned it and spent countless hours on it dodging any fit or seizure that came my way so when I hear electronic music I only hear video games. DNA (I actually can't believe it's called DNA ) sounds like the Jurassic Park game I used to play on the megadrive, then from nowhere comes a naughty guitar riff reminiscent to a Korn song. The vocals start and it's clear that these guys have a good range, from singing, to screaming to a kind System of a Down vocal style. A very bizzare mix of music but unique and that's what today's music scene needs.

No electronica introducing Rant just a rocking riff to start with, followed up by...rapping! Being a huge fan of rap this was a great surprise for me! This song was just incredible! Reverting back to heavier screaming from rapping was awesome! Kind of reminded me of old Hollywood Undead!

Escape Route their single off the album definitely has an old school hip hop feel at the beginning with a simplistic drum beat and repetitive keyboard then out of nowhere the guitar starts up and it's like being thrown directly into a Rage Against the Machine song, this band have taken so many different influences and it's amazing. Once again there can be a distinct Korn sound heart through-out but even if you're not a fan of Korn I think this album would still impress. It's easy to see why it would be a main single, it's very catchy.

Move Dead Bodies is definitely more of the dancier tracks despite its pretty disturbing title, against your will you'll be chanting 'Move dead bodies, move dead bodies' after listening to it because it's just so damn catchy.
Clearly this is a band that like to have weird names for songs Salute to Gamma Ray Vengeance features more MCing which is more than welcome. Now sounding more like Limp Bizkit definitely a great way to head musically, everyone loves the Bizkit!

Lowdown takes the music back to the heavy side of their dynamic to remind the audience that they rock as well as rap. The songs are split so evenly, once you get used to rapping and synths you're dragged right back to hard rock and metal and then back again, creating an amazing sound.
The next song Breakneck starts off as a bad ass metal song until the singing kicks in, not rapping this time, actually singing. The beat behind it is just incredible and the song is definitely one to remember off the album.

Call You Out and Max Headroom provide us with more metal and rapping and eventually we reach the end of this amazing piece of music.

Sign of the Times sounds somewhat familiar, what could it be? Oh, that's it, it's the same song that introduced the album, only now it's actually a song and not just a simple melody. For a last song it must be said that it's definitely the weakest, no big sounds or rapping, just talking with a simplistic melody over it but that's just one song off an amazing album so I'll let it go.
The Spindlesect have such a weird genre of music, they give these big metal riffs but then bring it back to have some rapping on their songs along with some dancy get down synthy beats teamed up with amazing guitaring and drumming! This album is incredible and worth a listen for anyone who likes rapping, metal or rock! Move over Limp Bizkit, there's a new underdog in town.
