90s Infused Hardcore
The Rhode Island hardcore punk mob bring us a great EP here - 5 tracks of short, sharp and effective 90s infused noisy tunes, nicely rough around the edges and backed by raw vocals. Starting with Appetite we are thrust into the middle of a fast, heady punk tune, cracked vocals and intense riffs but all with a groove running underneath for you to get caught up in; excellent. Headtrippin starts fast and slows down gradually towards the end showing they can turn on the control and precision when they need to. The groove comes back out to play on Ugly and continues on Anxious which are sure to get you moving - Anxious in particular shows a nice mix of styles with a touch of psych and a slower pace mixing things up nicely. Reek the closing track is a great tune, arguably the best on the record, sporting some hooky riffs and a cracking bass line, it's tuneful but also pretty heavy duty too - satisfying on all counts.
