Distorted sweetness

Baltimore art-rock four piece Thank You dish up this great two track 7" single which boasts one-off hand made covers created by friends of the band. First up is Mother's Nose a perky little track with a hypnotic pulsing beat, playful riffs and an off kilter (almost) melody, the vocals (deliberately slightly off key we must assume) are almost not needed but do nail home the band's art-rock credentials. All in all, it's good fun. Whale is a real corker, by far the stronger of the two tunes, an instrumental track with nicely distorted guitar, a sweet tune and slow minimal percussion, it has a moody, thoughtful tone and really sparkles. If you're a newcomer to their sound we recommend you also check out their 2011 album Golden Worry for more as you'll surely be hooked in after hearing this single.
