Baht - In My Veins

Turkish metallers Baht got together in 2007 and have released two EPs, but they're only just getting around to releasing their first full length record In My Veins.

The band play a pretty unique blend of metal as they mix Middle Eastern elements into their music instantly making it different to music performed by most other metal bands you hear.

Out of the eight songs on the album only two songs have Turkish titles; Neden and Dua, but as far as I can make out Neden is the only one with Turkish lyrics. Despite not having any idea what that song is about, it's still enjoyable to listen to and it contains some great guitar work.

In My Veins isn't the heaviest album, most tracks are mid-tempo, but the album flows well and has a great pace making it very easy to listen to. The vocal work is great on both the brutal parts and on the clean haunting chants.

In My Veins was produced with Dan Swanö, who mixed and mastered the album, and has made this is a collection of eight intelligent, well-written, well-performed metal songs sound perfect. Each track has been perfectly layered making it possible to hear input from all band members.

While the music on In My Veins isn't groundbreaking it is well performed and produced, and will no doubt be a hit with metal fans in Turkey and across the world.
