Melodic quirk
Bradford four piece Koala's female-fronted indie-math-rock is a real breath of fresh air - vocalist Jemimah has a great delivery, laid back but spot on and strong enough to carry the tricksy riffage and drums on cracking opener Josephine which is catchy from the outset and has grooveable rhythms. Lead Me From This Town is the strongest and most memorable of the two tracks - an even more catchy and sing along chorus than the opener and backed by great bass lines with just the right mix of melody and quirk to make repeated playbacks a must - it's a corking tune. Koala come highly recommended from us, check out this release and their excellent Koala EP at Bandcamp and keep an eye on them for the future, as we are sure they have plenty more great tunes yet to come.
