Sultry rock tunes

Old Samuel's husky male vocals, sultry guitars and languid drums are a perfect recipe for late night drinks and warm nights - they may even help to keep you warm in this rapidly cooling British Autumn.

Boy is a gentle rock song with open acoustics and an expansive Americana type feel which brings to mind Calexico (especially their more recent material) and I'm The Ghost only heightens that comparison; moody and darkly dreamy with echoing guitars, it really is lovely.

Finishing up the EP are Parts and Alone Tonight. The former is much rockier than its predecessors, more straightforwardly so and so in that respect less interesting, however it is a decent tune with a grunge feel about it which gets you moving and it's pretty memorable too. The closing track combines all the elements present in the other tracks really well and leaves you with a well rounded impression - again that sultry late night feel is back and its a warm tune full of echoes and an emotive vocal delivery. Nicely done.
